I completely agree with this post! I seek out options (I dislike being pigeonholed, tied down) then I spend ages deliberitating and I sometimes wish that someone would either a) decide for me b) that the other options were not an option!

I agree with Mumsy! I sat for ages looking at the picture of the cones and then thought to myself "Why isn't there a blue cone?" JUST PICK ONE!

Deep thoughtful post on a subject that many of us have trouble with, well done! On looking closely at the photo of the cones,I can,t even decide if I would choose the pink one or the orange one, mind you that green one looks tasty!!!

i suffer a similar fate when it comes to too much choice. i tend not to nitpick over the basics (i know which chopped tomatoes i want, and generally make a beeline for the same orange juice and tea each time), but eating in mid-range restaurants is a nightmare - way too much choice! i like going to posh restaurants where there's only around six options for each course (and then it's hard because they all sound so good).

last weekend, the boy and i were looking over takeaway menus to try and figure out what we wanted for dinner as we were both knackered. in the end, the choice and variety was so overwhelming that i just made us soup.

choice - not always good.

Great post..

It's all a cunning ruse of course, designed to anaesthetise the proles with endless possibilities (a /bigger/ TV? why yes of course! here's my credit card, still warm from the last transaction) so they don't realise just how subjugated they are and don't mount any kind of resistance. Why bother standing up to Cameron and his cronies when you can stick on a bluray, recline in your dfs sofa and happily insulate yourself from the world?

I suffer the same problem especially with grocery shopping. I said to Mr last week that I'm going to try not to analyse my choices so much, it takes up too much time and is too stressful!
Great post - I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way.

This is one of the best posts I've read in a long time!! I feel like this constantly. And never more so than when I'm thinking about booking a holiday. I've lost count of the amount of times I've gone online to do a bit of holiday research, typed a few dates into whichever site I'm using and been so overwhelmed with choice that I've ended up saying "Screw it, we can stay at home".

And restaurants! OH MY GOD the menus. Sometimes I have a headache after browsing 700 different options and having to settle on one thing, only to order and then be convinced I missed something better. I am always happy with my first choice so don't know why it's so infuriating. Or the old "What shall we do tonight?" conversation. There are so many options that often we cannot decide what to do and end up just lazing in front of the TV.

And I know exactly what you mean about biscuits! I try not to get too distracted by variety and just stick to something I know I love. (Maryland chocolate chip cookies, if you're interested!)

A great read Bex! Have a great weekend xx
